Program Context
The Education Quality for Inclusive Prosperity (EQUIP) is a significant partnership between the Governments of Australia and the Philippines. This program supports the Philippine Department of Education (DepEd) in its efforts to strengthen senior secondary education and ensure that all learners have the skills required to participate meaningfully in the labor force.
EQUIP is designed to support inclusive economic growth. Our mandate is to improve policy frameworks and practical pathways that allow students to transition smoothly from school to work or further education.
The Role
DT Global is seeking a strategic Inclusion Lead to join the EQUIP leadership team. This position is open to national applicants.
You will be responsible for the program’s Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) architecture. Your role is to ensure that equity is not just an add-on, but a core consideration in every decision, policy recommendation, and activity we undertake. You will work collaboratively with DFAT, DepEd, and private sector partners to drive systemic change that benefits marginalized populations.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Planning
- Lead the implementation and periodic review of the EQUIP Inclusion Strategy.
- Develop comprehensive Action Plans that define our approach to GEDSI, identifying specific entry points and resources required across all programming and pilot activities.
- Actively seek opportunities to align EQUIP initiatives with DFAT’s Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Strategy through high-level policy and program development work.
Technical Analysis & Integration
- Conduct GEDSI analyses for program pilots and partnerships to identify key areas for integrating gender equality.
- Develop specific GEDSI Action Plans for core partnerships, outlining the activities and resourcing required to address gender inequality.
- Review proposals and project designs to ensure GEDSI is embedded within activities and policies from the outset.
Capacity Building & Tools
- Develop toolkits, guidance notes, and resources that support the practical integration of GEDSI activities by our partners.
- Provide training and mentoring to the EQUIP team and stakeholders to ensure inclusion remains a primary focus.
- Design capacity-building resources for diverse audiences, including students, youth, parents, and employers.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Support the Department of Education (DepEd) and other stakeholders in analyzing and implementing identified GEDSI initiatives.
- Engage effectively with government agencies, the private sector, and civil society organizations representing marginalized communities.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a senior professional with a sophisticated understanding of how inclusion intersects with education and economic development.
Essential Qualifications
- Experience: At least eight years of relevant experience in gender equality, disability rights, or human rights development.
- Technical Expertise: Specific experience implementing “twin-track” disability inclusion and gender equality initiatives in development programs.
- Strategic Mindset: Proven ability to lead GEDSI programming in an international development context, particularly within non-gender focused sectors like education or governance.
- Partnership Skills: A track record of building productive relationships with government agencies, business leaders, and diverse communities.
- Communication: High-level written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports and facilitate workshops for diverse audiences.
