Operational Context

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Uzbekistan is implementing critical infrastructure improvements to enhance educational environments in the Surkhandarya region.

We are seeking a qualified Local Schools Renovation Consultant to provide technical oversight and engineering supervision for these renovation projects. This is a field-based assignment requiring a hands-on presence to ensure construction quality, safety, and adherence to timelines.

Scope of Assignment

The consultant will act as UNDP’s technical representative on the ground. Your primary mandate is to ensure that all renovation works are executed according to the approved technical specifications and within the agreed schedule.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Supervision and Quality Control

  • Monitor daily construction activities at selected school sites in the Surkhandarya region.
  • Verify that materials used and workmanship standards meet the project’s technical specifications and safety norms.

2. Project Management and Reporting

3. Coordination

  • Liaise effectively with school administration, local authorities, and construction contractors to resolve on-site issues.
  • Ensure that health, safety, and environmental standards are strictly enforced during the renovation process.

Contract Details

  • Duration: The assignment will cover approximately 190 working days spread between February and December 2026.
  • Schedule: This role may require work on weekends depending on the construction schedule and urgency of deliverables.
