The Mission

Videre Est Credere is an award-winning NGO dedicated to exposing human rights abuses and holding perpetrators accountable. We operate in high-stress environments, equipping activists and community leaders with the technology and training needed to safely capture visual documentation of political violence and systemic abuse.

We are currently seeking a MEAL Consultant to strengthen the evidence base of our work across three critical projects in East Africa and Southeast Asia. This is a strategic role designed to ensure that the risks taken by our partners translate into advocacy, policy change, and legal action.

Scope of Assignment

You will work remotely to design and refine Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) systems that are rigorous yet practical for partner-led interventions in sensitive contexts.

Key Objectives:

  1. System Design: Develop comprehensive MEAL frameworks that capture impact without compromising the security of our partners on the ground.
  2. Tool Development: Revise indicator matrices and develop specific MEAL plans tailored for partner-led activities.
  3. Reporting: Support the translation of field data into high-quality donor reports that clearly articulate our impact logic.

Deliverables & Workload

The consultancy is expected to require approximately 18 days of effort spread over a 6-month period, with the potential for extension as projects progress.

Core Tasks:

  • Development of MEAL frameworks for three distinct projects.
  • Revision and standardization of indicator matrices.
  • Creation of a MEAL plan specifically designed for partner-led implementation.
  • Technical support for MEAL-related donor reporting.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a specialist who understands the complexity of measuring impact in the human rights sector.

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven track record in MEAL for human rights, humanitarian, or development projects.
  • Technical Skills: Strong experience designing results frameworks, indicators, and data collection tools for donor-funded programs.
  • Reporting: Demonstrated ability to support or lead the drafting of donor reports.
  • Language: Fluency in English is mandatory.

Desirable Assets

  • Proficiency in French.
  • Experience managing MEAL across multiple projects or diverse geographical contexts.

Terms of Engagement

  • Location: Fully Remote (No travel required).
  • Compensation: Maximum daily rate of $500 USD.
  • Schedule: Flexible, output-based engagement starting mid-March 2026.
